Dear Customers, Here Marine Soulas (IE) – Dans les Branches sets out the general terms of sale which you accept by ordering genealogical research and / or by making a purchase on this site.
These rules, which we mutually agree to respect, allow me to provide you with the best possible service in a clear and unsurprising setting. If however, a problem arises, my ethics is to find a win-win solution with my clients, by discussing and proposing alternatives.
I want to provide you with the best possible service and I believe that you are the ambassadors of Dans les Branches.

Genealogical research
COST OF THE SERVICE
Our first contact allows me to understand what you are looking for and to see what is possible and what is not. It will be useful for me to take a look at the research you may have already done or the documents you already have. Once this is done, I can estimate the time necessary to carry out the research and make you a proposal for budget and deadline.
OBLIGATION OF MEANS
The professional genealogist is bound by an obligation of means, not of results. Despite all my efforts, a person or document may not be found despite extensive research. Fees will always be charged for my time. However, I agree to regularly report on the progress of my research and explain my steps.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PAYMENT
If you accept my budget and deadline proposal, I would ask you for a 50% deposit to start the research. The remaining 50% will be due at the end of the research. For amounts of less than 100 €, I would ask you to pay upfront the full amount.
SENSITIVE QUESTIONS
My research can lead to the discovery of uncomfortable or painful events such as illegitimacy, divorce and imprisonment. If you do not want to hear about certain issues, please let me know so that I can respect your wishes.
CONFIDENTIALITY
The professional genealogist is bound by professional secrecy. Dans les Branches is committed to respecting the legislation protecting the privacy of individuals. Dans les Branches and their customers undertake not to communicate confidential information about a third party.
